Irish Georgian Society launched in Austin, Texas

Discover Ireland with me

Austin, the capitol of Texas.  With a population of under a million people, as of a 2014 census estimate , was the venue for the honoring of Mr Patrick Guinness, president of the Irish Georgian Society by the state of Texas for the crucial work preserving  and restoring Ireland's Georgian architecture.

It was a special morning, with a meeting with the Lieutenant Governor, Mr Dan Patrick, followed by the reading of the honor in the House of Represenatives during the state legislature session.

Later that day, we gathered at the beautiful home of Andrea & Dean McWilliams as they hosted us, including Louise & Patrick Guinness, Steven Zick, vice President at Christie's Chicago, local magazine editors, state representatives and senators, university dignataries and law makers.
