Holiday Baking Class ~ Dec 5 2016
DATE & TIME
Christmas time for me growing up in Ireland was a magical time. My mother baked all year round but during the holiday season her kitchen was operating on all cylinders.
Freshly baked mince pies (these are a dessert and not a savory item) chocolate yule logs, christmas cake, plum puddings, brandy butter, pavlovas, shortbreads and home made chutneys to name but a few. The kitchen had a special warmth. I can still recall the aromas of cloves, cinnamon, orange, ginger and allspice filling the air. These aromas are uniquely associated and linked to christmas for me. I would imagine you have your own family recipes and goodies that bring back wonderful childhood memories. Perhaps they are associated with Thanksgiving or Hanukkah. Bring these along on the night and we will exchange holiday stories and recipes. Even the disasters !
Join me on, December 5 at 3015 Trinity Groves for an evening of baking and good old fashioned comradery and tradition. Tradition being the handing down of information from one generation to the next . Roll up your sleeves, don your apron, pour yourself a glass of wine and lets get baking.
We will bake some holiday treats together and you can leave with your finished goods , recipes and hopefully some fond memories.
At the heart of all my recipes, for a crispier, more flavorful result, I use Kerrygold unsalted Irish butter .
